Our story

In the beginning there was Rick

I was fortunate to have a wonderful and inspiring guitar teacher whom I’ve never forgotten, and we strive to pass on the great playing habits, sense of fun and love of music that he had. I used to listen to him talk about his gigs and see how all the other students loved him too and think “I wish I could do that someday, that looks like the best job in the world.”

It turns out I was right. And now I want to pass that on to you through our tutors. Thanks Rick!

A bit about Gianni

Gianni started learning guitar back in his youth (many moons ago) and since then music has taken him on a life long journey of fun and learning. He’s played to every crowd you can imagine during his 15years with band The Bridge Between from opening for Ian Moss on stage 88 to playing in little country pubs. In his other guise as the director of Little Tykes Music he has played in early education centers around Canberra for many years and is currently the resident musician/music teacher at Urban Education ELC in Deakin. His vision since starting GSharp Guitar Tuition has always been to pass on what he learnt from his own guitar teacher Rick, back in Brisbane days. He realized early that the ability to pass on a love of music is one of the greatest gifts you can have, and has taught guitar almost every day since.

Since expanding to include other tutors the vision has extended. The goal for our tutors is to share that same passion, and he hopes to give them the best job that they’ve ever had, where they are highly appreciated members of a small team, doing something they feel care about. He hopes they will go on to be ethical leaders of their own business someday and pass on the ideal that you can have a good business while keeping it small enough to avoid it becoming impersonal, treat people fairly and with respect and do something that’s good for the soul too.
